Ms. Cindy's Pear Pie

Submitted by joshua.lewis on Wed, 12/21/2016 - 19:30

This pie will be your new holiday favorite.  Combining flavorful fruit and a creamy custard, it's best served warm, with a dollop of whipped cream (or maybe some vanilla ice cream) on top.

Zucchini Bread

Josh's mom originally got the zucchini bread recipe from Grandma Coulby, and then years later Grandma Coulby had forgotten that it was her recipe in the first place and asked Josh's mom if she could get a copy of it.  Wasn't she a bit embarassed when she realized she'd asked for her own recipe!

Fresh Garden Salsa

If you love chips and salsa at your favorite Mexican restaurant, but have never made any yourself, you've got to try this recipe. It's so simple, yet packed with flavor, and can easily be made with ingredients you grow yourself.

Pawpaw Bread

Submitted by Heritage.Recipes on Sun, 10/11/2015 - 19:30

This recipe was originally published by Derek Morris in Our State Magazine.  It's a great way to enjoy Pawpaws, but if you don't have any on hand, you could easily substitute in Bananas.

Honey Lemon Chicken

Submitted by Heritage.Recipes on Sun, 01/19/2014 - 17:49

We originally shared this recipe in our January 2014 newsletter.

Not a dish we had traditionally made, we found it in a cookbook of recipes all containing honey.

We enjoyed it so much, we've made it several times since then.
